I am a science teacher in a public high school. I do not believe in evolution. No, it is not a religious conviction; evolution is simply not believable as science. Science involves inquiry into reasonable hypotheses, testing those hypotheses, drawing conclusions based on repeatable tests, etc. That is true for most science labs and classes, and for most teachers when it comes to everything — except evolution. Evolution is a de facto body of thought in academia. In other words, it exists as a fact by practice or dogma rather than by law. It is accepted as a law much as the law of gravity is accepted without question. Below a law is a theory. A theory is something which can be tested or falsified through observation or experiment. Evolution can not be tested in a lab through observation. So that makes it, according to scientific thought, a theory which emphatically can not be falsified through experiment either. Evolution has become by default the only viable theory and is nondisprovable. Its tenets should not be questioned because they say there really is no alternative. So, because scientists can use logic to explain commonality between species, they have developed a theory based on logic and not observation. And now that they have a theory, every move they make is based on the premise of supporting or proving that theory. But a theory, my friend, is just that. It is not a scientific law and should not be treated as one until it can be proven to be so. Does it make sense to say something must be X because there is nothing else that it can be? That is poor logic, and it is poor science to use that logic to promote a hypothesis like evolution. No, it is not even a theory. Evolution is the suggested explanation for a possible correlation between multiple phenomenon — a relationship between multiple species. I just gave you the definition of a hypothesis. Evolutionists mock intelligent design people for suggesting a higher power was involved in the universe. But strangely that is the very soapbox they themselves get on when anyone challenges their position: “You’re religious. That’s why you can’t accept evolution.” Could it be that they are anti-religious rather than scientific? Every actor on a Greek stage wore a mask. They are masking their fear of the existence of God by swearing on a stack of eye teeth and thigh bones. Evolutionists are the religious ones. Origin of Species is their holy book, professors are their priests, and teachers are their choir boys.
Excellent post! And nice ending.
