There is no oxygen in space, and really no air. It’s hard to think of air as mass, but it is. It’s even more incomprehensible to think of the disappearance of air. Something can “vanish into thin air,” but into what can “thin air” vanish? When air “vanishes,” you have space, and that is what outer space is “made of.” This is getting redundant!
So, I know what I’ll do. I’ll take a deep draught of earth air, and I’ll go into space at the speed of thought, and there I’ll deposit the air from my lungs, all 1.2 cubic liters of it. But I’ll not just “deposit” it there, I’ll release it with a very strained, vacuumed, and pressurized shout. Because you see, I’ve got something to say, and since no one is listening on earth, I’ll just take my message by the lungfuls into the cosmos. If I don’t find an audience there, at least I know the air will be a welcome addition to gadzillions of liters of literless nothing.
Shouting in space. Something. Say something of worth. Even if it’s going to be lost to infinity, make it something worthwhile! At least yell to the cosmos about the Cosmic Genius behind the vastness into which even thin air can vanish. What’s the point of this confusing exhalation? The point is – only God can make something out of nothing which is itself nothing – space. Something to ponder: what was out there before there was space?
Did you hear me shout into space? All right. I’ll do it again just for you. Auuuuppphhh!
Deep! Enjoyed this post, Lamar.

I’ve been reading a book about physics, and have been fascinated and baffled to learn that (theoretically, at least) matter is all made of the same subparticles. There’s no difference between gold and grass except the numbers of electrons, protons, etc., in the atoms and the combinations of atoms in the molecules. If grass were manipulated in the right way (bombardment with electrons, heat, pressure, who knows what) the atoms that make up its carbon molecules would become atoms of a different material, which could be subjected to more modifications and become yet another element, and eventually the grass could become gold as the correct number of subparticles are added to the atom nuclei and electron orbits.
According to theory, the dense molten metal at the core of the sun goes through several states of being (a series of different elements according to the conditions to which it is subjected) before reaching the surface and spreading out into space as radiant energy.
It’s also amazing that, although the space through which it travels is a vacuum and has a very low temperature, this radiant heat from the sun is substantial enough to warm our planet and even scorch it (and us).
