Take me through a vortex in your heart
That whirlpool of crushing revelation
And blackhole of abandoned trust.
Completely absorb
The mass that is me by the gravity that is you.
O God, at once Jehovah and Elohim,
The singularly, plurally, multi-faceted One
Grind the cogs of time to a halt and close dark space
To draw me in, this dust of earth and elements profane,
This mist of watery weakness that I am.
Come invade my proud, laughable domain
This infinitesimal speck
And with the finger of God
Delicately flick me into the undefinable
Vastness of counterspace
– If I could see it and live –
Your fullness, that converse of void.
Only your innumerable attributes could crowd
The distance between stars
Leaving no co-ordinate on any plane untouched
By your effusing resplendent light.
With eternally-echoing, passionate cries from a corona
Of thorns pressing in and confining the galaxy
You squeeze the darkness from inside me
Hurling it into a place unreachable
An alternate universe that exists only unto you
A forever-banished sea of forgetfulness.

LAMAR, WOW!!! I THINK YOU HAVE CAPTURED HOW AWESOME OUR
GOD IS. IF WE COULD JUST OPEN OUR EYES & SEE THE VASTNESS OF
WHO HE IS. WE LIMIT GOD SO MUCH BY WHAT WE THINK HE SOULD BE
& WHAT HE CAN DO!!! WITH GOD ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. PRAISE THE LORD!!! YOURS IN CHRIST, KERRY
Thanks Kerry,
I’ll be using this one in street and church ministry. It started out as pure speculation of the universe and it turned into a prayer.
